LivingKitchen and imm cologne announce trends

Together with the international kitchen event LivingKitchen, furniture fair imm cologne in Germany will feature the latest international design trends from over 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, at the winter edition taking place Jan. 14-20.

Furniture trends include: Classic meets modern, new interpretations of established interiors; Comfort is king, ultra cozy sofas and armchairs for a private lounge feeling; and Unique, distinctive design and intelligent materials.

LivingKitchen, which alternates every other year with LivingInteriors, will showcase trends including: Open-plan kitchens; Greater comfort for users; Resource efficiency; Courage to embrace new materials; Intelligent modern household appliances; and Plain or Colorful: Both are possible. Various events will be taking place throughout the show. Here’s a sampling of what to expect:

Richard Lampert will celebrate its 20th anniversary, and showcase the latest new materials and additions to the product range. A reception will be held on Monday, Jan. 14 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in Hall 11.2, Booth J010.

BD Barcelona Design welcomes designer Konstantin Grcic and his team, as they present his new collection on Monday, Jan. 14 at 12:00 p.m. in Hall 03.2, Booth D040.

Dutch designer Reinier de Jong will present both the REK bookcase and REK coffee table for the first time together at the fair. A brand new version of the bookcase will be on display as well as a new chair design in Hall 3.1, Booth 080.

35 young designers from around the world will take place in the [D³] CONTEST. 862 products have been sent in for the 8th annual contest, and jurors will award the best three prototypes with the highly recommended interior innovation award for the best young designers at the show.
