A+D Architecture and Design Museum Los Angeles' 12th annual gala, “Celebrate the Journey,” on May 11 will feature a runway presentation of one-of-a-kind carry-on suitcases by over 40 artists, architects and designers—from Karim Rashid to Kathryn Ireland—which will be available for purchase as part of the silent auction. The evening will be emceed by actor and TV host Boise Thomas (Alter Eco/Discovery-Planet Green).

“We cannot wait to see what our design leaders and creative thinkers from around the world bring to this,” said Museum Executive Director Tibbie Dunbar. “Last year’s Celebrate was sold out and tripled in attendance from the previous year. We are so fortunate to have the kind of support—from donors to attendees—that helps us continue to offer high-quality exhibitions and events that explore and celebrate how design touches our daily lives.”

Established in response to the need for a space that would be devoted expressly to the exhibition of progressive architecture and design in Los Angeles, the A+D Museum opened its doors in January 2001 in the Bradbury Building. Now located on Los Angeles’ Museum Row, A+D remains the only museum in the city where continuous exhibits of architecture and design are on view.

The event will take place on May 11 from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. at 5900 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA (across from LACMA). For ticket information, visit the website. All proceeds will benefit the A+D Museum.
