Highlights and happenings at the Las Vegas Winter Market

As the bi-annual Las Vegas Winter Market (Jan. 26 – 30) continues to grow, it’s becoming an important destination for designers on the trade show circuit. This market offers new product introductions from Monica Pedersen, Thom Filicia and Barry Dixon, along with a host of special events for designers and retailers.  

Interior designer Ron Woodson of Woodson & Rummerfield's House of Design will lead tours of C-ONE’s home décor, furniture and tabletop vendors on Sunday, January, 26, at 2:00 p.m. and Monday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m.

Mark Moussa will host a southern themed brunch to celebrate Dixon’s second collection by Arteriors on Sunday, January 26, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Building B, Suite B360)

On Sunday evening, Withit will honor Susan Gravely, founder and chief executive of VIETRI, with the Legacy Award during the WOW Awards gala. Four other WOW awards will be given out in categories such as education, mentoring, leadership and future leader. The winners in each category will be announced at the awards celebration at the IMC World View on 16. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., with the seated dinner and awards presentation beginning at 7:30. Tickets are $150 each, and on sale now.

Monica Pedersen

HGTV star and interior designer Monica Pedersen will unveil her furniture collection at the Abbyson Living showroom Monday, January 27, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Building B, Suite B880)

Join Pedersen again from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Softline where she will unveil her first line of textiles, The Make It Beautiful Collection. Inspired by the architecture, landscape and lifestyles of her hometown, Chicago, the designs are named after her favorite neighborhoods Lincoln Park, West Loop and the Gold Coast. She will also be signing copies of her book, Monica Pedersen, Make It Beautiful (Agate Publishing). RSVP for this event. (Building C, 5th floor, #0103)

Safavieh will host an informal Q&A followed by luncheon with interior designer Thom Filicia to introduce his first lighting collection. Following lunch, Filicia will sign copies of his book, American Beauty: Renovating and Decorating a Beloved Retreat on Monday, January 27, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Building A, Suite A101)

Visit the Next Step Reps showroom for a meet and greet and book signing with Tracy Porter, designer, author and lifestyle entrepreneur, Monday, January 27, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Building C, Suite C891)

The Eastern Accents showroom will host interior and product designer Barclay Butera for a book signing on Monday, January 27, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. (Building A, Suite A130)

Designer and reality star Kate Mesta of "Our Modern Family" is joined by surprise celebrity guests in a celebration of the new Kate Mesta Brand showroom. Guests will enjoy special custom jewelry gifts, music, food and drinks on Monday, January 27, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Building C, Suite C1005)

Barbara Barry

On Tuesday, January 28, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., interior designer and author Barbara Barry will be honored as the Winter 2014 Design Icon in Building B, on the 16th floor. Attendees will get a glimpse into the life story and inspirations that have influenced her life in design at a special presentation and Q&A. Immediately following will be a book signing and reception at Global Views where guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and conversation. (Building A, Suite A153)

Also on Tuesday from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. singer, musician, actor, dancer and former teen idol Donny Osmond will unveil his new home collection—Donny Osmond Home by Donny & Debbie Osmond—at A&B Home. (Building C, 5th Floor Atrium)

Signaling an expanding roster of exhibiting companies, nearly 70 ribbon-cutting ceremonies will take place at Winter Market. Honoring new showroom launches and expansions, ribbon-cutting ceremonies will take place throughout the week.

The World Market Center campus will be abuzz with entertainment in the Grand Plaza as well as nightly receptions hosted throughout the Market floors. Plus, attendees will be treated like VIPs in several leading Las Vegas nightclubs for official after-parties.
