Amidst the numerous events during the Decoration & Design Building’s Fall Market, Stark Carpet hosted a special book signing with interior designer Trudy Dujardin, author of Comfort Zone: Creating the Eco-Elegant Interior.

Inside the first floor of the Stark showroom, Dujardin’s family, friends and clients as well as market-goers gathered to celebrate the book, which features Dujardin’s interiors coupled with her boundless devotion to the sustainable design movement. It was clear to all in attendance that the book represented more than a single publishing project for the author.

“I wrote Comfort Zone to share the knowledge about healthful buildings and holistic living that I’ve spent my lifetime learning,” said Dujardin. “You can read Comfort Zone as a beautiful design book and enjoy the inspiration of photographs of some of the country’s most stunning homes and settings, or you can drill down deeper and learn more about how to live sustainably in your home, and on the earth."

While sipping on champagne and tasting canapés, guests enjoyed Dujardin’s magnetic personality while she enthusiastically shared her passion for the “eco-elegant” interior and further informed clients about the lifestyle.

"My design work and my book both reflect my belief that the best of all worlds combines gorgeous, high-style design with healthy interiors,” said Dujardin. “Having the best means doing our best for our health and the environment. With that in mind, I educate my clients about the myriad and wonderful options that exist today in eco-friendly building materials, furnishings, fabrics and finishes.”

Notable attendees included hosts John Stark and Chad Stark, Cottages & Gardens Editorial Director DJ Carey, former Treasurer of Pennsylvania Robin Weissman, philanthropist Joanna Fisher and interior designers Charles Pavarini III, David Duncan and Ronald Bricke.

"We were excited to host the launch for Trudy's book, Comfort Zone,” said Stark Senior Vice President Chad Stark. “It's an incredible resource for anyone who wants to incorporate more eco-friendly design elements into their home. At Stark, we are proud to offer numerous products—from rugs and carpets to fabric and wallpaper—that are environmentally friendly."

"I have known Trudy and covered her design projects for more than a decade," said Carey. "I have had the unique pleasure of experiencing her projects on Nantucket and here in Connecticut they are beautifully designed and executed. I believe that her new book, Comfort Zone, Creating the Eco-Elegant Interior will inspire all of us to create homes that are beautiful and healthy."
