With Dering Hall's new Specialty Artisans collection, the interior design resource hopes to offer its design professional clientele a deeper, more diverse  pool of high-end furnishings, ultimately providing users greater inspiration.

As part of this new section, Dering Hall will locate exceptional artisans, design resources and ateliers known in the industry for  superior craftsmanship. A few resources found here include Miriam Ellner Design, La Forge de Style, Atelier Viollet, The Ruffled Window, Contract Workroom, Foster Reeve & Associates, Marble Crafters and Cabinets by Stanley.

“We designed Dering Hall to be the definitive directory and sourcing tool for the very best in interior design,” said site co-founder and CEO Peter Sallick. “The designer directory has always featured the top interior designers, architects and landscape designers in the country, but serious projects also require the expertise of specialty artisans. It was a natural extension to our platform.”

Dering Hall partnered with Alanna Bailey Consulting to assemble more than 550 design professionals, 22 of them being Specialty Artisans. Although Dering Hall chooses which designers and artisans can be listed, the cost to be listed is $995 per year.

“I’m such an advocate for the details,” said Alanna Bailey. “Highlighting these artisans’ work and process is incredible—this is going to be something special.”

This section is an add-on to the Design Professionals listings on Dering Hall. Within the Design Professional section of the site, users can search and find interior designers, architects, landscape architects, and now, specialty artisans.

“Our goal is to serve the interior designers and architects by providing a highly curated listing of the finest specialty artisans across a variety of service types,” said Frank Ballabio, VP community operations, marketing, editorial for

Dering Hall. “Currently we list artisans that are focused on range of specialty services that includes verre églomisé, marquetry, ornamental plaster design, custom drapery and upholstery, stonework, and more.”
