Crate & Barrel taps former RH exec as CEO

Crate and Barrel announced Doug Diemoz’s appointment as chief executive officer on July 9. Diemoz, former chief development officer at Restoration Hardware, will join the company on August 1, replacing interim CEO Adrian Michell, who will continue as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Diemoz will also serve as member of the board of directors and will report to Neela Montgomery, board chairwoman and member of the executive board of Otto Group.

Diemoz arrives at Crate and Barrel with nearly 20 years of leadership experience with brands including Williams-Sonoma, Gap, Inc. and MEXX.

At Restoration Hardware, he was responsible for the company’s emerging business and worldwide expansion.“Doug’s wealth of experience in transforming brands and his global perspective will be tremendous assets to our organization,” said Montgomery. “Doug is a great cultural fit for our brands. I am confident that he will promote change that builds on the heritage of our brands and prepares Crate and Barrel for future omnichannel growth.”
