Eight premier designers have made the “Bilou Bilou” chair their own for charity in a challenge presented by Promemoria with collaborators Dragonette Ltd and online auction house Paddle8. The seats will be on exhibition through May 19 as part of the Legends of La Cienega events. Paddle8 will hold an online auction of the customized seats, with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.

Antonino Buzzetta's version and Timothy Corrigan's version of the Bilou Bilou

Participating designers include Joan Behnke, Antonino Buzzetta, Timothy Corrigan, Cliff Fong, Adam Hunter, Mary McDonald, Amanda Nisbet and David Phoenix. A few of the creative concepts include Buzzetta’s dramatic concept, featuring silver spikes, black Swarovski crystals and black velvet with an embossed leather seat; Fong's take, with Mongolian sheepskin and a black-and-white cerused beechwood finish, and Corrigan's embellished and fringed version, with a custom-printed floral fabric for the seat of the chair.

Learn more about each of the chairs up for bid on Paddle 8.
