Spanning four districts and 10 areas of Beijing, Beijing Design Week, a citywide celebration of design (September 23 through October 7), will encompass various areas of programming, among them Design Night, the opening-night party featuring celebrations, installations and awards; and Design Hop, a roster of exhibitions, installations, pop-ups and lectures throughout the city that are each focused on the impact of public design.

“From historic districts to artistic villages, creative clusters or commercial areas, Design Hop programs are devised to give expression to a transformational landscape of experiments and ideas carried through design, from industry to academic and educational sectors,” explains Beatrice Leanza, creative director of the program.
