ASID NY Metro premiered the second episode of its six-part emerging designer series, Designer Beginnings, last week at the New York Design Center. Each episode chronicles the success stories of professionals in the interior design industry with the hope of advising, inspiring and encouraging emerging designers. The second episode features an interview with Bruce Bierman of Bruce Bierman Design. The screening was followed by a live Q&A with the designer. Notable attendees included Scott Prentiss, Bonnie Hoeker, Alex Sobolewski, Michael Sobolewski, Robin Baron and Kelsey Ranson.

“I was thrilled to be included in ASID’s Designer Beginnings series,” says Bierman. “The enthusiastic response truly reinforced how important the series is for young designers who want to hear from ‘seasoned professionals.’”

The next episode will premiere in September and will be the first one about commercial design.

“One of the greatest benefits for students and emerging professionals to get involved with an organization like ASID is this amazing opportunity we have to connect with established design professionals,” says Alex Sobolewski, emerging professionals chair at ASID NY Metro. “The idea behind the Designer Beginnings series is just that — to ask these designers how they got to where they are, and see what we can learn from their stories. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Bruce Bierman who has such an inspiring story, and we are very excited for the future of the project!”
