Asheford Institute of Antiques, the world’s largest distance-learning program related to the study of antiques, collectibles and appraising, is offering a new online course to members of Antiques Young Guns USA, as part of a partnership that is now in its second year. (Young Guns membership is open to antiques professionals ages 40 and under; read EAL’s feature on the organization.)

“We’re happy to again be sponsoring a younger generation of antique and collectible enthusiasts, who have not only shown a desire to succeed in this exciting profession, but who have also demonstrated the aptitude and skills necessary to make this dream a reality,” says Charles Green, director of Asheford Institute of Antiques.

The institute, which was founded in 1966, offers a home-study curriculum that encompasses 1,600 pages in 12 textbooks (or 13 e-Course modules). It also includes seven comprehensive examinations and 15 additional teaching aids across four categories: Pleasure, Profit, Appraising, and Care & Restoration. Young Guns members receive a 15 percent discount on courses.
