Artist studios open in Tribeca, an Italian brand opens a new space in Asia, a tech-friendly brand makes itself at home in Florida, and the list goes on. Scour the scene with EAL’s top picks for this season’s latest showroom openings in your neck of the woods...and beyond.

EAST COAST / NEW YORK CITY
Celebrating its 125th year, Italian-made luxury linen brand SFERRA has expanded its light-filled, trade-only showroom. Michelle Klein, who joined the company earlier this year as president and CEO, is overseeing the refresh across the brand, including the showroom expansion. The new space offers soft goods, including bedding, pillows, down, table linens, towels and robes, and on tap in the future are custom embroidered bedding, lounge and sleepwear, luxury linen wash, and home scents. (230 Fifth Ave., by appointment only)

Opened earlier this spring, the new Todd Merrill Studio showroom in Tribeca spans 4,000 square feet split into two areas: the Marble Gallery, which hosts thematic and solo artist exhibits, and the Main Gallery, a sunlit space exhibiting vintage and contemporary studio works. (80 Lafayette St.)

Pirch SoHo, a fully interactive appliance store packed with brands like Bertazzoni, La Cornue, Miele, Viking and Thermador, invites visitors to test out every gadget, fixture and item in stock—including taking a private steam shower, turning one of 40 available showerheads, and experiencing a group or one-on-one cooking lesson with one of the chefs-in-residence. Across a whopping 30,000 square feet, the retailer shows off vignettes in kitchen, bathroom and outdoor categories that introduce visitors to working product. (200 Lafayette St.)

Also recently opened in SoHo is Roll & Hill, a six-year-old lighting company known for its collaborations with independent designers. Its first-ever showroom encompasses 4,000 square feet over three floors, and also sells upholstery and cabinetry by the company’s founder, Jason Miller; Golran carpets; a Philippe Malouin shelving collection; and pieces by Finn Juhl. (3 Mercer St.)

Customers can request the lights to be dimmed to better replicate real-life sleeping conditions. (223 E. 59th St.)

Hästens opened its Sleep Spa Boutique in Chelsea, and the space is the brand’s first ground-up construction in the U.S. The four-zone store, spread across 2,338 square feet, provides resources for learning about sleep, learning about the brand’s history, experiencing different vignettes with product—and even napping on the beds. The space also includes a VIP area where customers can experience the Vividus bed, relaunching in the country this fall. The showroom’s design takes its cues from the brand’s history, particularly the 1940s, when the Hästens factory was built by famed Swedish architect Ralph Erskine. (232 W. 18th St.)

Home furnishings store Sonder Living is opening its fourth U.S. locale, a 2,000-square-foot space within ABC Carpet & Home’s Manhattan store. The 6,200-square-foot space is designed as “one part modern boutique hotel lounge, one part collective think tank,” explains the company, and it provides a design lab, a gallery and a showroom.
