Well-Designed, a wellness organization for the design industry, held its first High Point Market event in April, an intimate dinner at the Proximity Hotel with the theme of “Affirmations,” sponsored by its founding partners Benjamin Moore and Cosentino.
Well-Designed co-founders Caleb Anderson and DeAndre DeVane welcomed a guest list of top names in the field, including Benjamin Johnston and Erich Ploog of Benjamin Johnston Design; Lisa McDennon; Breegan Jane; Marc Thee and Mark Tremblay of Marc-Michaels Interior Design; Barry Dixon; Laura Hodges; Isabel Ladd; Allison Palladino, Zita Rudd and Kaylie Simon of Paladino Rudd Interior Design; Janie Molster; Lisa Mende; and Arianne Bellizaire.
Members of the press, including Danny Seo and Kelli Lamb of Rue, Helena Madden of Elle Decor, Krissa Rossbund of Traditional Home and Hadley Keller of the Design Leadership Network, were also in attendance. The event was co-hosted by two of Well-Designed’s founding partners, represented by Lauren Corbin of Benjamin Moore and Patty Dominguez of Cosentino.
An immersive atmosphere created by Anderson offered a sleek and elegant roomscape with organic touches such as blossoming dogwood branches foraged from the nearby mountains of North Carolina and a verdant runner of softly textured spring foliage that dramatically spanned the 30-foot-long tabletop. Stepped altars cloistered the warmth and sanctuary of more than 800 flickering candles, while soaring trefoil arches painted in Benjamin Moore’s Love & Happiness, a calming beige with hints of pink, completed the backdrop for a heartfelt exchange of hopeful and forward-looking affirmations for the design community, written and read aloud by the guests throughout the five-course tasting menu of local, seasonal, wellness-focused cuisine.
The emotional evening came to a crescendo when, as a special surprise, Anderson introduced singer Toneisha Harris of The Voice, who serenaded the guests with a concert of moving ballads that left them inspired and uplifted.
