Michael S. Smith celebrates book launch

On October 9, designer Michael S. Smith celebrated the release of his new book, Classic By Design, with a cocktail party and book signing at Sotheby’s, followed by a dinner hosted by longtime friend and The Lowell creative director Dina De Luca Chartouni in the hotel’s iconic Club Room, which Smith designed. With a foreword by Shonda Rhimes, the designer’s highly anticipated seventh book of interiors features his extraordinary projects around the world, from L.A. to New York and Madrid to Mallorca. A celebration of his design aesthetic—a flawless blend of European classicism and American modernism—the book illustrates his vast range of styles.
