On Tuesday, August 7, DECASO hosted interior designers and dealers at a brick warehouse in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood for its fourth summer seminar. Craftsman Anthony Morris presented on his methods and techniques for handcrafted fine furniture, including veneering and woodworking.
Notable attendees were DECASO director of trade relations Marisa Marcantonio, president Kendra Frisbie, and director of dealer relations Keane Ryan; Simon and Kati Curtis; Amanda Ellis, Andrea Coulter and Celina Wright of Mark Cunningham; and Christine Miele of reGeneration.
One of the few remaining workshops in the area, Anthony Morris Design produces furniture, including case goods, tables and small decorative pieces, using traditional techniques that lead to solid construction. “Intention allows extraordinary materials and traditions of craft to speak,” Morris said.
