Graduate Hotels, a college-town-centric chain of 10 hotels located across the U.S., with plans to open another eight by 2020, is getting into the wallcovering business, one removable piece at a time. The company has teamed up with Chasing Paper, a removable wallcovering brand, on a line of designs inspired by vintage art, sports, college life and more.
“We are thrilled to work with Chasing Paper to be able to offer the Graduate aesthetic to
design enthusiasts outside of the hotel walls,” said Julie Saunders, chief marketing officer of Graduate Hotels. “Echoing both brands’ shared passion for unique and forward-thinking design, the partnership speaks authentically to Graduate Hotels’ design philosophy with accessible collegiate-inspired prints.”
Designed by in-house artist Ernest Wlostowski, the Graduate Hotels Chasing Paper collection will debut online as well as in person, at the hotel's Graduate Richmond location. The initial offering includes six prints. How are they best used? “We love using the Graduate Hotels capsule collection for Chasing Paper to canvas an entire room; however, the prints in the collection also lend themselves perfectly to statement walls. The number of wallcovering pieces used to canvas a bedroom or dorm varies based on the room’s size,” Saunders tells EAL.
The fit was a natural one. “We are big fans of Chasing Paper and saw many synergies between their brand and Graduate Hotels, particularly our shared dedication to accessible design, which is what makes this partnership such a natural fit. People often ask us where and how they can purchase items found in our hotels to get the 'graduate' look, so we are excited to share our aesthetic through these removable wallpaper designs created by our very talented artist and graphic designer, Ernest Wlostowski.”
