The United States has upped its participation at this month’s Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, Germany, opting to put interior designer Scott Henderson in charge of an elaborate exhibition of American design. As an official “Partner Country" at the fair, which takes place Feb. 13 through 17, the U.S. will also host special programming.

“Scott Henderson is an excellent designer, especially when it comes to consumer goods,” said Nicolette Naumann VP of Ambiente/Tendence. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to implement his creative ideas and to show the U.S. in an impressive light.”

For the exhibition, Henderson has drawn inspiration from the broad horizons of the North American continent.

The biggest design challenge, he admits, was "how to decide what to do among the seemingly endless possibilities.”

His concept? "A New England seaside, with authentic Adirondack Chairs facing the serenity of the sea. In this setting, the products of selected US exhibitors will be shown on tables resembling plants growing out of the ground.”

The Partner Country program also includes an extensive line-up of events including the Partner Country presentation and the special Partner Country Day with a variety of activities from panel discussions to networking events.

The Partner Country exhibition and actives will be held in the Foyer of Hall 4.1 throughout the duration of the fair.
