For its 11th year of exhibitions and architecture and design programming, L.A.'s A+D Museum will unveil Celebrate 2012: The Wearable featuring a salon-style runway event featuring wearable creations provided by top creative talent in architecture, fashion, graphic, industrial and the visual arts. The event will take place Saturday, March 10 with proceeds benefiting the Museum.
Wearable pieces will be provided by designers and artists including furniture/ fashion designer Karim Rashid, fashion designers Trina Turk, John Baldessari for Gelila Couture, and JC de Castelbajac. Architects Richard A.M. Stern and Richard Meier; David Hertz, Marmol Radziner, James Magni, Sol Angeles, among others.*
The Museum encourages any object, garment, adornment or accessory including, but not limited to clothing, jewelry, shoes, hats, and wearable sculpture.
"We cannot wait to see what our design leaders and creative thinkers from around the world bring to this," states Museum Executive Director Tibbie Dunbar. "We are so fortunate to have the kind of participation that will help us continue to offer the region high-quality exhibitions and events that explore and celebrate how design touches our daily lives."
