Twenty dealers from this month's Paris Biennale des Antiquaires will participate in The Salon: Art + Design, which premiers at the Park Avenue Armory in November. Created by show producer Sanford Smith, The Salon will partner with the Syndicat National des Antiquaires, the association responsible for the Biennale.

Art and design dealers include Christian Deydier, President of the Syndicat and one of the world’s foremost dealers in Chinese art; Galerie Beres, Galerie Boulakia, Galerie Robilant+ Voena and Brame & Lorenceau.

“I am extremely happy about our partnership with Sanford L. Smith & Associates, which has resulted in the creation of The Salon in New York,” said Deydier. He continued, “we are particularly delighted to bring esteemed French dealers known to global art and antiques lovers from the Paris Biennale to New York—many for the first time. The Park Avenue Armory will be designed to highlight collections spanning several artistic genres and is the perfect backdrop for our introduction to New York’s most discerning collectors.”

Art deco dealers include L’Arc en Seine and Galerie Vallois. Carpenter’s Gallery of London and Paris will feature 20th Century and contemporary works of design, Oscar Graf of Paris’ Quai Voltaire will feature unusual pieces of decorative art from the 19th and 20th Centuries.

Smith says of the Salon, “what distinguishes this from other American art and design fairs is the participation of the dealers from the Syndicat. These dealers, combined with our top American exhibitors, will bring to the Salon a level of quality that has not recently been seen at a New York fair, and visitors to the show will have the opportunity to view work that is not only fresh to the market, but of the highest caliber. Our collaboration with the Syndicat is sure to make the Salon the most elegant, eclectic show in New York this fall."
