In a Paddle8 auction that starts today and runs through March 15, interior designer Carlos Mota is offering up art and design pieces from a collection gathered over the past decade, including midcentury French and Italian furniture and photographs by top contemporary artists like Alec Soth, David Benjamin Sherry, and Sarah Charlesworth.

“When Carlos told us he was thinking about redecorating his apartment, we leapt at the opportunity to share his extraordinary treasures with Paddle8’s collector community. Carlos’s ethos fits in seamlessly with Paddle8’s mission," says Kate Brambilla, Paddle8’s head of luxury, design and collectibles auctions. “He brings an exacting eye and joie de vivre to his collecting, and celebrates art in all its forms. From the David Benjamin Sherry photographs flanking his bedroom to the colorful self-designed low table and even the playful and eclectic collectibles, he pairs art and design from different eras and geographies effortlessly. We are thrilled to offer this capsule collection on his behalf and add him to the growing roster of Paddle8’s collector collaborations.”
