The South Florida Design Park (SFDP) is hotter than ever. With 10 showrooms already established in the building, representing over 300 manufacturers, and a coterie of high-end collections scheduled to arrive this year, the young design center is proving its moxie with the premiere of the South Florida Design Park Fall Market on Thursday, October 9.

“This is the first year we decided to add a second market,” said Jill Sauer, showroom manager of Jerry Pair, an original SFDP showroom. “We have been hosting Winter Market in February, but as the SFDP location has grown with new showrooms being added, we found there was a need to have a second Market to showcase all the new product we’ve added collectively.”

“The SFDP continues to attract new showrooms and designer workrooms to take advantage of the synergy with the current showrooms,” said Sauer.

For the first Fall Market at the SFDP, designers will be able to enjoy breakfast at Stark, and view the latest product introductions from Scalamandre, Jerry Pair, Snaidero, J Nelson and Judith Norman now.

Maureen Footer is currently on the international lecture circuit promoting her acclaimed publication, George Stacey and the Creation of American Chic, and Stephen Salny has just completed his fourth best-selling book on William Hodgens, adding to his definitive monographs on Michael Taylor, Frances Elkins and David Adler.

"Footer and Salny are a part of J Nelson's on-going Designers' Library Lecture Series, that has included Mario Buatta, Ann Getty, Stephen Sills, Geoffrey Bradfield and Alexa Hampton, among others", Nelson added.

“We have all benefitted from the support of the design community who have offered their talents to conduct exciting events such as celebrity designer book signings, lectures, panel discussions and innovative product presentations,” said Sauer. “We were also very pleased to have the Jerry Pair showroom be selected to host the filming of an episode for a new FOX television series called ‘Living in Luxury’ to be aired later this Fall.”

Attendees who stop by the Jerry Pair showroom at 4:00 p.m. during Fall Market will have the chance to be interviewed for the new show and will be entered to win various prizes.

In addition, Jerry Pair will host designers Phyllis and William Taylor for a presentation featuring the 10 homes in their latest book Classic Florida Style: The Houses of Taylor & Taylor.

Maureen Footer and Stephen Salny

Interior designers Maureen Footer and Stephen Salny will then discuss Footer’s latest book George Stacey and the Creation of American Chic, and Salny’s latest book William Hodgins Interiors, at the J Nelson showroom. The pair will speak from both a classic and modern perspective, focusing on the work of both iconic American designers.
