Last month, Editor at Large announced Luxe Interiors and Design magazine's forthcoming China Edition, and this week, Sandow Media revealed that the premiere issue debuts February 2012. Sandow Media will publish the title in partnership with Beijing-based In Design Media Group, led by Mr. Francis Zhao, President.
Luxe Interiors + Design China sponsored a gala award ceremony during Guangzhou Design Week 2011 to welcome the its first international title to China. Jennifer Matthews, VP, Group Publisher, and Pamela Jaccarino, VP, Editor in Chief presented awards to China's top interior designers at the 2011 Interior Designer of the Year Awards and the Jintang Awards ceremonies.
"The explosive growth of China's residential design market provides a natural opportunity to launch Luxe Interiors + Design China," says Adam Sandow, CEO of Sandow Media.
"China ranks #2 in the world for consumer spending on luxury goods. This fact, combined with strong interest in American and European design brands made China a natural fit for our first global effort," says Matthews. "Many of our current advertising partners have signed up to be a part of Luxe China."
Luxe Interiors + Design China will be bi-monthly (6x per year) with a circulation of 50,000 to the wealthiest homeowners in China with a focus on Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong and affluent suburbs. Following the successful model of Luxe Interiors + Design, distribution of the China edition will include subscriptions, newsstands, private clubs, private jet terminals, leading design centers—like Beijing 798 and Shanghai M50—and five star hotels.
Sandow Media has been in partnership with In Design Media since 2004 and has a growing foothold in China with its publications, Interior Design China, Furniture Today China, and Surfaces China and Asia.
Sandow Media maintains a presence in China through its wholly owned subsidiary Material ConneXion, the leading global platform for material innovation and solutions. The company opened a library in Beijing in September 2011, with a library opening in Shanghai this month. Material ConneXion has plans to expand its presence throughout China with 8 more library locations scheduled to open by 2015.
