Founded in 1985, the fair was designed by London-based decorative antiques dealer Patricia Harvey and her husband Ralph to target the interior design trade.

Notable names attending fairs of years past include Rose Tarlow, Michael S. Smith, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Nicky Haslam, Veere Grenney, John Minshaw, Chester Jones, Nina Campbell, hoteliers Kit Kemp and Olga Polizzi, Oprah Winfrey, Madonna, Florence Welch, Gwyneth Paltrow, Eddie Redmayne, Adele, Bryan Ferry, Matthew Williamson, Sir Paul Smith, Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Sir Terence Conran, Tom Dixon and Trisha Guild.
