Marking the success of its first year, “Leadership, Mentoring, Networking & Opportunity for A&D Professionals,” known as LMNOP, a New York City-based professional development and networking society, will launch a professional Mentorship Program for architects and designers.
“My hope is that members will benefit by forming strong ties with other industry professionals, learn from the organization, and from their peers,” said LMNOP Founder Jennifer Graham.
The Mentorship Program connects experienced professionals with colleagues that are striving to advance their career or enhance a particular skill through one-on-one mentoring and small group training. The range of mentoring topics will include improving technical skills, providing a resource for LEED and NCIDQ study groups, and professional guidance in areas such as presentation skills and design management.
“We are excited about developing a flexible program where the mentorship experience can vary from one relationship to the next,” said program manager Robert Cerretti, AIA and LEED AP.
The group started as a response to the recent economic crisis and has quickly evolved into a vital, formalized organization that reaches across all occupations within the A&D industry. LMNOP provides personal, hands-on training, workshops and mentoring opportunities to nurture leadership skills for the industry's leaders of tomorrow. LMNOP's mission is to strengthen design professionals with the business skills required to remain competitive and relevant in the industry.
LMNOP’s accomplishments over the past year have been powered by a group of dedicated volunteers, advisors, and leadership team led by founder and President Jennifer Graham, co-founder and Vice President Stephanie Chiuminatto, and directors Susan Donohoe and Kristen Mucci. Additional support has come from manufacturers, vendors and allied organizations who have donated the use of facilities, expertise and direct contributions to support the mission and growth of the organization.
