Proposte, the trade fair for manufacturers of furnishing fabrics and curtains, descended on Lake Como over April 27 to 29, drawing an invite-only crowd of direct producers of fabrics under this year’s theme: “Blooming Your Home.” Of the ninety exhibitors who attended, half were from Italy and the remainder were foreign, including 15 from Belgium, seven from France, six each from Britain and Spain, four from Germany, three from Turkey, two from the Netherlands, and one each from Austria and Switzerland. Among them were five international exhibitors new to Proposte: EnzodegliAngiuoni, Forza Giovane Art-Passamaní, Tessitura Serica A.M. Taborelli, Texnova and Van Maele Weavers.

Debuting at the fair were textiles including velvets, jacquards, digital prints and leathers. Mauro Cavelli, president of Proposte, told Furniture Today that the theme was selected to embody today’s trends. “‘Blooming Your Home’ pays tribute to color and shows how it can provide added value to the world of interior design,” he said. “Natural colors of white and gray are popular, and homes need to be more colorful. Now we see that people seem to enjoy more colorful fabrics, and these are here at Proposte.”
