The International Interior Design Association (IDAA) panel made their final decisions for two of this year's Middle East Design Competitions that premiered in Dubai on May 15 to 17.
IDAA announced Studio M as "Best of Competition" in the The Middle East Office & Hospitality Product Design Awards, for their Project for the Pavilion in Dubai and Andreu World as "Best of Competition" for their Product for Sail Chair (pictured below).
“In selecting the best products of this year's show, the IIDA panel of judges worked to bring together their knowledge of the market, a sense of what is relevant design and a search for what is original. The chosen items in each category are excellent representative of these qualities,” said Cheryl Durst, IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO.
In both competitions the IDAA seeks to recognize and reward outstanding interior design and architecture projects in the Middle East and to encourage new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishing of interior spaces.
“Our panel of judges took care in evaluating the visual aesthetics, reviewed and considered their adequacy to the typology of the spaces, the cultural context and the perceived qualities. Each Best of Category and Honorable Mention is deserving of the title, and we congratulate both Owner and Designers for their achievement," Durst said.
