The sixth annual Houston Art Fair (previously the Houston Fine Art Fair) will take a new direction this year, moving beyond fine art to all types of media. This year's exhibitions will include modern and contemporary art from all media—painting, photography, ceramics, glass, textiles, studio jewelry and design.

“We are thrilled to produce a new and reimagined presentation of the Houston Art Fair at Silver Street and the Washington Avenue Arts District,” said Donna Davies, vice president of Urban Expositions, which acquired the Fair in 2015. “The city of Houston continues to serve as the perfect host for this art fair with its influential, international base of serious art collectors and patrons, and we plan to bring an elevated experience to the event this year.”

The fair will kick off with an opening night preview September 29 to benefit FotoFest, a nonprofit organization for international arts and education, and run through October 2. Throughout the event, international art galleries and private dealers will present exhibitions. Urban Expositions will also organize talks and panels for attendees.
