Housingworks special sales include Mad Men & American Retro

The upcoming sales at Housingworks are breaking the mold for the charitable chain of upscale thrift shops in New York.

A collection of Sterling Cooper inspired clothing, accessories and furniture will be available beginning Saturday, July 16 at the Gramercy Thrift Shop in New York for the Mad Men inspired sale.

Gilt Groupe presents a curated selection of American Retro items online Thursday, July 21 at 12:00 pm.

Shabby Chic will feature some "seriously chic yet comfortable style" from pastel colors to painted wood furniture and silver accessories Saturday, August 13 at 10:00 am.

The Housing Works Thrift Shops occupy 10 upscale locations in New York City, selling high-end vintage treasures to bargain hunters and fashionistas. The organization raises more than $13 million in funding per year for Housing Works efforts.
