Maison et Objet (M&O) has long been one of the most valuable resources for furniture, lighting, accessories and international design trends on the global design calendar. From Friday, Jan. 18 – Tuesday, Jan. 22 top designers, editors and buyers from around the world will gather in Paris for five days of events, product introductions and much more.

Here’s a summary of what you’ll find at this year’s show:

Hall 1 is Ethnic Chic; Hall 2 is Textiles; Hall 3 is Tabletop; Hall 4 is Craft; Halls 4, 5A & 5B are Deco Side; and Hall 5A & 6 are Home Accessories.

Three spaces staged by Elizabeth Leriche, Vincent Gregoire and Francois Bernard with themes developed by this year’s Inspiration, Vivant, in Halls 1, 2 & 3.

In Hall 7, guests will find Operation Talents a la Carte, which allows visitors to view work from a selection of six promising young designers.

Lectures and debates will be held throughout the weekend. On Friday, Jan 18: Creators & Designers; Saturday, Jan. 19: Forecasting & Innovation; Sunday, Jan. 20: Distribution; and Monday, Jan. 21 Food & Architecture.

Now! Design a Vivre, held in Hall 8, is a selective international exhibition that tracks down innovation, creates areas to meet people. It reflects current trends and showcases the new design generation.

A limited edition and grand-scale retrospective using mirrors was created by experimental international designers and will be on display in Hall 8.

Styles, atmospheres and personalities are brought together at the heart of Hall 7, with Interior Scenes—a one-of-a-kind assembly of the greatest, most talented international designers.

Around the entire show, take note of the designs by:

Royal College of Art Graduate Victoria Wilmotte, who has designed the visitors' reception area in hall 5B.

Philippe Boisselier, who has designed an unusual space to welcome visitors to Hall 8.

2013 Designers of the Year: Odile Decq, Joseph Dirand and Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby are the M&O designers.

A talent scout, VIA, will be presenting prototypes designed by the new generation of French designers and financed by its 2013 creation assistance program. A closeup on a "living space with prints", François brument's carte blanche: large-scale 3-D concrete printing, will be on view.

Companies that highlight quality products and respect the environment will be denoted as Responsible Decoration.

Need to recharge your batteries? Take a gourmet coffee break in a space created by Slide Design in Hall 5B; Café Marie Claire Maison in Hall 8 offers a chic "pit-stop;" and Milk café offers gourmet cuisine by Tartes Kluger, the talented pie and tart maker, in Hall 6.

In Hall 5B architects, consultancies, decorators, designers, hotel owners, journalists and more will find a convivial space dedicated to networking. In this lounge visitors will find a comfortable seat, a full schedule of events, workshops and more.

At the end of the show, bloggers and web columnists will give the Distinction Award to the most impressive new products.

M&O is not open to the public, pre-registration is required. To see the complete schedule of events and to register, click here. For a complete list of exhibitors, click here.
