Frankfurt-based trade fair organizer Messe Frankfurt has agreed to support the designers and manufacturers in the Czech Republic to help them achieve better penetration in the market, and to be a key partner in the Czech Grand Design Award and the Manufacturer of the Year Award.

"The Czech consumer goods market has a great potential, especially in the design oriented segments at international consumer goods and design fairs Ambiente and Tendence in Frankfurt am Main," said Detlef Braun, director of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. "These fairs will help the Czech manufacturers and designers open the door to new business partnership in Europe as well as globally.“

"The chance to exhibit their products at one of the leading European fairs will make a significant difference – it will open the gates to foreign markets and consumers,"  said Jana Zielinski and Jiří Macek, organizers of the Czech Grand Design Award. "By supporting the Czech businesses, Messe Frankfurt expressed their interest in the Czech market and production. We believe that the new partnership will soon bear fruit in both marketing and trade. It is definitely yet another step in building friendly relations between the Czech Republic and Germany.“

Since 2006, the Czech Grand Design Awards have helped draw attention of both professionals ant the lay public to outstanding achievements in the field of design. They are awarded in the following categories: Designer of the Year, Fashion Designer of the Year, Graphic Designer of the Year, Photographer of the Year, Store of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, and Discovery of the Year. The Academy also announces the designer of the year who is subsequently entered in the Hall of Fame.
