ELLE DÉCOR and Bloomingdale’s are set to open the Design Innovators pop-up shop in the 59th Street flagship Bloomingdale’s store.

The shop will carry exclusive, one-of-a-kind products from eight up-and-coming designers, all of whom have been featured in the “Talent” pages of ELLE DÉCOR.

This idea started over a lunch between Kevin Harter, Bloomingdale’s VP for fashion direction of men’s, home, and .com, and Michael Boodro, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE DÉCOR.

“We talked about how home fashion is so similar to the fashion world right now in regards to trends, the number of upcoming designers, and overall interest” said Harter. “We spoke about a similar project that we worked on together with GQ and upcoming fashion designers, and I thought it would be great to do the same with home designers.”

The designers that are being featured in the shop include: Paul Loebach, Jason Miller, Richard Wrightman, John Murato & George Nunno, Richard Saja, Payton Cosell Turner, Billy Cotton, and Jonah Meyer.

“I truly feel that these guys are designers that you're going to want to watch,” said Harter. “It's very competitive right now in the home world, so it's really all about allowing customers to see your product. The designers that were chosen are innovators that offer unique and special work. I'm confident that we will see some big names in the home fashion industry in the next couple of years from this group.”

The shop has something for everyone. Pieces include embroidered pillows, stationery, lighting, tableware and furniture. In total, there are about 60 pieces ranging from $8.50 for a notebook to $8,200 for a desk.

“It’s really impressive that there’s such an array of things to purchase and many of these items will be limited edition, so it really opens up a designer market,” said Boodro.

ELLE DÉCOR and Bloomingdale’s will host a kick-off celebration Thursday evening, September 13, to mark it’s opening, and it will be remain open through October.
