Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Maguire, Adam Levine, Nas and Scooter Braun are a handful of the A-listers who have invested in Casper, the mattress startup that sells and ships directly to customers. Founded last year, the company recently announced a $55 million Series B investment, which brings the company's total funding to almost $70 million.

The Casper mattress, which was designed in-house by a team of product engineers, is available in six standard sizes and ships for free within two to five days in the U.S. and Canada. New York City and San Francisco customers can receive same-day delivery by bike messenger.

“Casper’s meteoric rise is the direct result of its exceptional ability to hit a nerve with alienated consumers,” says Dennis Phelps, general partner at Institutional Venture Partners, who as part of the investment, joined Casper’s board of directors as an observer. “Casper is already conquering the U.S. mattress market with its category-owning brand, and is poised to meet the overwhelming demand for international disruption of this industry.”
