Students from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne's Luxury Industry and Design Masters program have collaborated with Baccarat to rethink traditional glassmaking techniques. Vase-O-Rama is a series of thirteen vases were that are on view now at Designjunction at the London Design Festival and will be on view through September 23.

The six-month project was supervised by London-based designer Bethan Laura Wood and Parisian photographer Philippe Jarrigeon. The students come from fifteen different countries. The final designs highlight the talents, and new possibilities of the Crystalworks cutting, engraving, sandblasting and gilding techniques. Three of the designs—Brick, Chevron and Swirl 1—will go into production and be available for purchase.

Harness, by Charlotte Sünnen (France) and Anna Bitzer (Switzerland), is an integrated harness that turns the traditionally static vase into a backpack.

Brick, by Aurélie Mathieu (France) and Philippe Karrer (Switzerland), is grooved and sliced up like the classic building block.

Exquis 1 & 2, by Kacper Hamilton (Britain) and Michal Florence Schorro (France), is a series of three vases that feature a variety of cuts and decorations from the Baccarat archives, based on the principle of cadavre exquis.

Tartan, by Ana Vareta (Spain) and Davis Luraschi (America), part of another series of three—Chevron, Harlequin and Tartan—reinterprets traditional tartan, argyle and herringbone textiles.

Seal, by Bettina Pozzo di Borgo (France), uses a repeat of the Baccarat manufacturers seal to create a decorative pattern.
