In celebration of its newest collection, Blur, Tai Ping hosted a party for industry members at Picture Ray Studio. Juliana Polastri, the designer of the collection, and Michael Reagan, director of Tai Ping's hand-knotted rugs division, were in attendance, along with guests John Douglas Eason, Antonino Buzzetta, Bennett Leifer, Carl D’Aquino, Lance Scott and Fernando Mastrangelo.
“Tai Ping is famous for its hand-tufted rugs, but the Blur collection shows that we can also make gorgeous custom, to-order hand-knotted product,” says Jonathan Arnold, marketing manager at Tai Ping. “Blur was inspired by vintage photography and it showcases both design skill and dyeing techniques, which work together here for a highly complex result. Each of these 12 designs, shown in combinations of wool, silk, mohair and cashmere, can be sized and colored to a client’s exact specifications. We thought a photography studio would be the perfect spot to celebrate the collection and the hard work of our in-house designer Juliana Polastri.”
