Mary Ta, co-founder of MASS Beverly, hosted a cocktail party and booking signing with Lauren Rottet, hall of fame architect and interior designer, to celebrate the launch of her signature furniture line, Rottet Collection, at the showroom and her new book, Authentic Design. More than 150 guests were treated to a Q&A with Ta, Rottet and Mayer Rus, West Coast editor of Architectural Digest.
“This showroom is a true representation of globalization. MASS Beverly presents many different, talented designers, and our job is to share that talent with our community,” says Ta. “Traditionally, we have shown collections by European designers, and we have American clients purchase those designs. As the world became more integrated, I realized that our American voice is important. Through getting to know Lauren, I was very impressed that she had created a collection and had written a book. Lauren is our first debut of an American designer, and I’m very honored to show this wonderful evolution of her work at MASS Beverly.”
Some of the industry members in attendance included architects Clive Wilkinson, Gulla Jonsdottir and Hagy Belzberg; artist Charles Arnoldi; Edie Cohen, Interior Design deputy editor; and Arianne Nardo, Robb Report home and design editor.
"I am thrilled to see my furniture designs on display at MASS Beverly," says Rottet. "Each piece in the Rottet Collection is either a solution to a found need, or a realization of an idea regarding how furniture can be set in a space like a work of art, yet serve a functional and comforting purpose."
