To honor the newest class of Next Wave Designers, House Beautiful hosted its annual Next Wave Luncheon at Hearst Tower in New York City, where this year’s special guest was interior designer Darryl Carter. More than 100 people attended the luncheon to celebrate the 2017 honorees: CeCe Barfield Thompson, Sarah Bartholomew, Chad Graci, Charlotte Lucas, Eche Martinez, Emilie Munroe, Katie Sutton, Ryland Witt, Louisa Pierce and Emily Ward. Also in attendance were 15 Next Wave alumni, including Catherine Kwong, Ohara Davies-Gaetano, Margaret Kirkland and Antonino Buzzetta.
“The Next Wave luncheon is really a time to stop and [acknowledge that] the magazine is a great incubator for talent, the magazine is an authority in American decorating,” says Sophie Donelson, editor in chief of House Beautiful. “These are the people we’re excited about and who deserve honoring.”
