During High Point Market on October 27, 600 guests were transported to a Moroccan tent under a starlit sky for the launch of Bernhardt’s fourth Designer in Residence showcase. Inspired by the exotic and serene beauty of Morocco, interior designer Nicole Fuller transformed the Bernhardt gallery into a layered and lush destination themed “Starlit Dunes.”
On hand to greet guests alongside Fuller was Bernhardt CEO and president Alex Bernhardt Jr., chairman Alex Bernhardt Sr. and director of brand development Heather Eidenmiller; Stellene Volandes, editorial director of Elle Decor and editor in chief of Town & Country; Elle Decor executive editor Ingrid Abramovitch; and Jennifer Levene Bruno, senior vice president and head of industry at Hearst Home & Design.
“Nicole is such a creative force, and her innovative and inspiring gallery perfectly showcased Bernhardt’s dedication to creativity and the art of living well,” said Bernhardt Jr.
The launch was celebrated with themed canapés and cocktails, a house DJ and a henna artist from Poonam Henna Art. Guests enjoyed the night’s signature drinks—the Lemonada cocktail and the non-alcoholic Marrakesh Spiced Market Tea, served in a traditional glass—and appetizers, including saffron sesame flatbread, candied ginger sirloin and cardamom lemon tarts.
The event included a trio of giveaways: Raleigh-based designer Lisa Stewart took home an authentic cooking tagine, a pair of Moroccan cookbooks and a collection of Moroccan spices; Morgan Blaser from Florida interior design firm Beasley & Henley won her choice of furniture from the Starlit Dunes space; and grand-prize winner Rana Salah of Atlanta-based Golden Glam Interiors won a trip for two to Marrakesh.
