Job Description

Lindsey Herod Interiors is looking for a full time, in person assistant designer for their Houston office. The Assistant Designer will assist in the delivery of all phases of our residential projects from conceptual ideas through implementation and should possess a strong balance of design sensitivity and technical knowledge. The ideal candidate should be passionate about decoration and design, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. The Assistant Designer will support the Principal and Design Manager and report directly to the Design Manager.

Job Requirements

- A degree in Interior Design or related field preferred or relevant experience in the Design industry
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop and Google Workspace
- Knowledge of Studio Designer a plus
- Strong familiarity with fabric, textile, and rug vendors a plus

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare floor and furniture plans, elevations and furniture drawings in AutoCAD
- Attend and prepare for client meetings as requested, taking notes and communicating LHI deliverables to team members
- Input notes and tasks into Trello and assist in managing and completing those tasks
- Create and manage selections templates for client projects, keeping them updated throughout a project
- Create client facing materials including but not limited to design boards, drawings, presentation folders, selection spreadsheets, budgets
- Correspond professionally with clients as directed
- Check in on job sites and relay design decisions to contractors and trades
- Create and manage client budgets
- Create and amend items and proposals in Studio Designer, to be reviewed before sending by Design Manager
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely receipt of requested information included but not limited to requesting samples, quotes and pricing, managing vendor lists on server, setting up new accounts, discovering new vendors
- Assist with specifying, sourcing and quoting of furniture, finishes and construction materials
- General design office duties such as organizing and maintaining resource, fabric and vendor library, and keeping office clean and organized
- Run errands as needed
- Support Operations Team as requested
- Assist team with client installations and photo shoots
