A Panel discussion with Thomas Pheasant Image provided by NYSID

Please join us for a panel discussion between the internationally renowned designer Thomas Pheasant, and three of the finest French artisans who are part of PAR EXCELLENCE a French craftsmanship collective based in NYC.

For a long time relegated to the background, craftsmen are now more and more getting the recognition they deserve. While a historical approach to craftsmanship and interior design shows that the two universes share common roots, it turns out that they sometimes face difficulties communicating. This discussion panel is the opportunity to get a better understanding on how craftsmen and designers collaborate together. Thomas Pheasant, Pierre-Yves Guenec from Ateliers Saint Jacques, Romain Jouffre from Ateliers Jouffre and Etienne Gounot from Ozone will discuss how interior designers and craftsmen work hand-in-hand to create unique pieces and impressive projects. The panelists will explore one major example of their collaboration: Thomas Pheasant’s design of Par Excellence’s showroom in The Bowery.

Thomas Pheasant is internationally recognized for his 30 years of creating interiors. His diverse accomplishments have been widely published in the most prestigious architectural and interior design magazines around the world and he has received numerous awards in the design industry. While his studio is based in Washington D.C. Thomas Pheasant continues to work on residential and commercial projects throughout the world.

This will be followed by a Q&A. Sponsored by Chandon, a Champagne Reception will follow the panel discussion for a meet and greet with the artisans.
