Guy Regal celebrated the opening of his Helmut Newton exhibition, “Naked With a Fur Coat,” at 49 Chambers in New York City with 400 guests. The exhibit, a curated collection of 33 never-before-seen Newton photographs, was displayed throughout the Beaux Arts lobby. Guests, who included Elle Decor editor in chief Whitney Robinson, Architectural Digest editor Mitch Owens, and designers Geoffrey Bradfield, Laura Hunt and Cynthia Frank, were treated to cocktails and music from DJ Seth Magoon.
“The attendance at the opening of this groundbreaking exhibition was more than I could have ever expected. It signified the continuing excitement about Helmut Newton. I know each of my guests, friends and supporters, and collectors alike, were thrilled as well by the magnificent backdrop of 49 Chambers Street,” says Regal. “I’m particularly grateful for Douglas Elliman and the developers of the building for sponsoring our opening. Over the next month, I’m looking forward to showing the exhibition at my gallery in the New York Design Center and encourage those who weren’t able to make the opening to come by.”
The exhibit will be on display at Regal’s gallery at the New York Design Center until March 2.
