Jack Lenor Larsen, textile designer, author, and collector, held an exhibition and sale of rare treasures from his personal collections at his gallery in SoHo last week. The event sold over 60 prized items from Larsen's estate, LonghHouse Reserve in East Hampton, New York, to designers and collectors.

The items included tribal rugs, ethnographic textiles, decorative arts, pottery, modern crafts, basketry and books. Larsen has amassed a collection through years of traveling and pieces he has created such as a Quilted Silk Hanging for the Sears Tower, and a Quilted Silk Robe from Uzbekistan lined with Russian-printed cotton purchased in Afghanistan in the 70s.
All proceeds benefitted LongHouse Reserve’s public programs which include docent-led school tours, festivals, curriculum and family-activity guides, and workshops.
