On October 28, IIDA and the Society of British and International Design (SBID) are presenting a program together at Downtown Design, a fair at Dubai Design Week. The presentation, “Design Is...,” is their first collaboration and will feature expert commentary on award-winning projects from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico, the Netherlands, Uganda, United Kingdom and the United States. Leading the program are IIDA executive vice president and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, IIDA president Scott Hierlinger and SBID founder and president Vanessa Brady.

“We are honored to partner with SBID to present ‘Design Is…’ at Downtown Design. In addition to showcasing international trends, the program will celebrate and articulate global design and highlight specialties from workplace to health care,” said Durst. “As an epicenter of design and creativity, we look forward to promoting and sustaining knowledge-rich opportunities for the Dubai design community. We are so excited to be a part of Downtown Design.”

Interior designer Brady explained, “Dubai has come to be recognized as a primary location for design in the industry and sits alongside the world’s best for creativity and innovation. As a region that attracts the attention of design professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world, Downtown Design is the perfect platform to celebrate the coming together of SBID and IIDA. It is an exciting prospect, and together, we are looking forward to celebrating and promoting design excellence globally.”
