Ready to get into the holiday spirit? WantedDesign, the organization responsible for many of NYCxDESIGN's events, is poised to unveil its first-ever design-focused shopping event at Industry City. The “Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market” on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 22-23, will feature Brooklyn-made products from  furniture, lighting and housewares to accessories, jewelry and food—all peddled in the inspiring environment of a Brooklyn design destination.

During the Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market, a free event put on in partnership with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, guests can jump-start their holiday shopping by perusing a original selection of local products by more than 30 Brooklyn-based companies, plus meet the designers and makers themselves and, naturally, enjoy hot drinks.

Brooklyn makers whose products will be showcased include Analog Modern, Brooklyn Bowls and Furniture, Celltei, Spoonable, Wax Rax and Think Fabricate, among others.

Simultaneously, American Field, a pop-up market offering a selection of American-made products, will take place in an adjacent building.

A preview and VIP shopping event takes place this evening from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. Carlo Scissura, President and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, will give a presentation on the “Brooklyn-Made” certification, which will be followed by cocktails.

The Brooklyn-Made certification program assesses the extent to which something is manufactured in Brooklyn, N.Y. The program relies on a two-pronged approach to evaluation: a points-based scoring system as well as review from an independent advisory board. More information can be found online.
