Contemporary furniture stalwart B&B Italia Group has chosen a fashion retail executive as its new CEO. Armin Broger, a veteran leader at Levi Strauss, Diesel and Tommy Hilfiger, will work on executing a growth strategy “to evolve the company’s global footprint and build its globally recognized brand portfolio.” That portfolio currently includes B&B Italia, Maxalto and the high-end kitchen brand Arclinea. Broger, 56, replaces Giorgio Busnelli, who will transition to the role of president.
B&B Italia chose Broger for his “successful track record in building brands and leading strategic transformations of global retail and omni channel businesses.” He arrives with experience serving as CEO of McGregor Fashion group in the Netherlands; president of Levi Strauss Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he worked on the brand’s reposition; chief operating officer of Tommy Hilfiger Europe; and general manager at Diesel.
His past work also includes consulting for Bain & Company and working in family entertainment at The Walt Disney Company.
B&B Italia Group, which was founded 52 years ago by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, Giorgio Busnelli’s father, is present in 80 countries via its seven flagship stores, 43 single-brand stores and more than 800 points of sale. In 2016, the company acquired its kitchen brand, Arclinea, which can be found in 40-plus countries via its 22 single-brand stores and over 200 multibrand points of sale. The company is headquartered in Novedrate, Italy, and employs 600.
