Beauty and function converge in a stylish veneer stacking chair by Fritz Hansen first designed by Vico Magistretti designed in 1997 as he was sitting among his sketches in Fritz Hansen’s design department. Now, Fritz Hansen has reissued the Vico Duo chair in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Magistretti’s birth. A simple, elegant design with tight lines, the piece cuts a striking silhouette with armrests and back legs cut are one piece of steel. A loose ‘Z’ that Magistretti had drawn on paper ultimately inspired the chair’s “backward” armrests, an unusual element that creates balance in the design.
