What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
Like all CMO designs, the new collection finds its inspiration in the world’s most exquisite natural fibers and the time-honored craftsmanship that accompanies them. Carefully cultivated or harvested using methods that prioritize ecological harmony, these plant-based fibers embody sustainability at its core. This year’s collection includes three captivating wallcoverings: the dynamic Hurricane, the luminous Lueur d’Abaca and the refined Soie Bois. Additionally, two textile collections, Symphonie de Soies and Tresse de Palmier, enrich the range with their distinctive textures and artistry.

What piece are you most excited to unveil?
Hurricane is truly mesmerizing; it has a metallic aura that transports you to a natural realm where luster and iridescence reign supreme. With sculpted and oxidized brass illuminating the incredible marquetry of its wood burls, it epitomizes exquisite craftsmanship. The unique nodules of these burls unveil captivating shades of gold or silver, adding an enchanting touch to the collection’s allure.

How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
This collection propels the brand forward by seamlessly fusing two exceptional materials: brass and bramble wood. The brass is expertly crafted into a thin, delicate layer, skillfully pleated by hand, then carefully subjected to either burning or oxidation techniques, also carried out by skilled artisans. These meticulous processes are proof of the brand’s commitment to showcasing the artisans’ remarkable expertise and the inherent depth of the material. The bramble wood burls, known for their distinctive knots and cavities, serve as a captivating feature, revealing glimpses of the underlying metal. Every detail, from the handiwork on the brass to the unique characteristics of the bramble wood, reinforces the brand’s dedication to exquisite craftsmanship and innovation.

Each collection within our portfolio spotlights the exceptional qualities of specific natural fibers, which serve as defining features of their uniqueness. The Hurricane wallcovering combines brass and bramble wood to create a captivating visual experience. Lueur d’Abaca showcases abaca marquetry, utilizing the strength and dyeability of abaca fibers for rich colors and a slightly transparent effect. In the Soie Bois wallcovering, the elegance of paulownia wood is paired with silk in three-dimensional artisanal marquetry, resulting in patterns that highlight the wood’s veins. Symphonie de Soies is crafted from hand-spun silk, celebrating its fabulous irregularity. Tresses de Palmier utilizes palm leaf hand-woven on a loom to create unique textures.
