Agnello in Slate: In Latin and Italian, “agnello” means “lamb.” Wooly and plush, with a positively rhythmic warp and weft, Agnello is an easy choice for luxury upholstery—and one of our most popular fabrics. A bespoke blend of natural fibers that’s woven in Belgium, Agnello is a substantial boucle that holds its shape, and it boasts a subtle sheen courtesy of its viscose content. The Vale London founder and designer Melinda Marquardt in her London studio with original drawings that formed the design and concept of the new 2022 Sloane capsule collection.

Bagan in Porcelain Blue, Nougat, Deep Sea and Willow: Inspired by a trip to Myanmar and a mind-altering visit to Thatbyinnyu Temple, our Bagan wallcovering is a whimsical rendition of hot-air balloons adrift over the ancient city. Originally hand-painted in shellac inks, Bagan is a Vale signature illustration printed on multidimensional paper: a non-woven backing paper with a pearlescent finish that’s printed in Italy, a mid-layer of tiny threads for texture and a vinyl finish for washability.

Bagan in Deep Sea: Inspired by a trip to Myanmar and a life-changing visit to Thatbyinnyu Temple, our Bagan wallcovering is an artful account of hot-air balloons floating over the ancient city. From the top of the temple, watching the sun melt into a purple haze on the horizon, the balloons appear static—and the mind finds peace. Originally hand-painted in shellac inks, Bagan is a Vale signature illustration printed on multidimensional paper: a non-woven backing paper with a pearlescent finish that’s printed in Italy, a mid-layer of tiny threads for texture and a vinyl finish for washability.

Sagitta: In geometry, the sagitta of a circular arc is the distance from the center of the arc to the center of its base. While that may sound technical, this multipurpose fabric’s first impression is anything but. Aptly named for its recurrent peaks, Sagitta is a 100 percent cotton washable fabric that does double duty as upholstery and drapery—it’s our partner fabric to Iter. Crafted from a sophisticated digital print, the subtleties behind the brushstrokes are both dynamic and soft.

Sloane Stripe in Porcelain Blue: Our Sloane Stripe drapery is for those who crave a little pomp and circumstance. Updated in four ethereal colors, this traditional ticking stripe stands apart because of its silk-and-linen blend. Unlike most cottons, the linen creates a subtle slub across the weft, while the silk gives it an unmistakably lustrous finish. A juxtaposition of strength and elegance, this timeless drapery epitomizes luxury, and it effortlessly coordinates with the full Sloane collection.

Folley in Porcelain Blue: Bringing the outdoors in is the impetus behind Folley, our new textured wallcovering and counterpart to Avem. There’s no mistaking the sense of enchantment conveyed by the art—an original painting that has been translated as a digital print. Dancing atop a basket weave of paper and hemp that is handwoven in Austria and made exclusively for The Vale, the happy-go-lucky birds and floating leaves find dimension and depth. Available in three soft colors, Folley is an animated grasscloth that is luxe in appearance and whimsical at heart.

Cirrus in Porcelain Blue: With its wispy strands of linen woven in a subtle undulating fashion, the Cirrus wallcovering is mellow from afar and hypnotic upon approach. Like the parade of cottony formations that share its name, Cirrus’s weft recalls these gossamer tufts, each pulled and stretched into intermittent strips of white. Also available in Nougat, Whipped Cream and Willow.

Avem in Porcelain Blue: A snapshot from an autumn walk through the English countryside, our Avem linen drapery is both scenic and sweet. Distilled through a dream and captured as an original work hand-painted in ink, the pattern presents playful partridges and pheasants mid-flight, surrounded by leaves dancing on an updraft. A 100 percent linen-ground cloth that boasts delicate embroidery by our artisans in India, its beauty is in the textural nuances. When the morning light filters through Avem, or a breeze from the window fills its folds, the birds take wing once more.

Iter in Porcelain Blue: With its series of soft brushstrokes, each one tamed into stacked arches and adjacent stripes, the Iter textured wallcovering has a strong sense of direction. Like an arrow released from the tension of its bow, cutting a curve across the sky with power and purpose, this paper-and-hemp basket-weave wall treatment—handwoven in Austria exclusively for the Vale—brings rhythm and movement to any room.
