Tell us about the inspiration behind the new collection.
We know that consumers are spending more time at home and are looking to create restful spaces where they can feel comfortable unwinding, as if they’re at a spa. There’s this need for wellness and self-care at home, and the sense of home being a place of sanctuary and escape.
What was the starting point for this collection?
We started with a collection of vanities. We wanted to bring in timeless pieces in high-quality materials designed in the Four Hands style. Since vanities are a permanent installation in the home, we found inspiration in elegant simplicity instead of trends. We wanted to offer styles from both existing collections and a new launch. Millie is a style our customers already know and love. With its classic proportions and ample storage, it’s a perfect fit as a vanity. Our new collection, Anthem, centers around a transitional waterfall leg and open shelf design, offering mixed storage options with cabinets and drawers. Our bath-safe lighting and mirrors are based off bestselling pieces we’ve been using indoors for years. Some of the designs were already safe for bathroom use; for the few that weren’t, we simply updated them to be damp-rated. This launch offered an opportunity to layer more design-forward pieces into the bath, and to adapt selected pieces from our existing collections that cater to many styles.
How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
For Four Hands’ first bath products, it was paramount that the pieces we offered were true to the craftsmanship, styles, materials and textures that define our existing portfolio. We wanted everything in this collection to blend seamlessly with the rest of the pieces across all our categories, so that customers could create a bath space just as inspired as any other room in the home. We wanted our first launch to not only offer a new product type, but also allow the opportunity to introduce the Four Hands style to a new room.
How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The entire bath collection is designed to blend seamlessly into the rest of the home. Plus, it helps round out our portfolio, offering something for every space—from living and dining rooms to outdoor and bath—so that our customers can find all the pieces they need in one place.
Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
The vanities are definitely material-driven. We use Carrara marble countertops on each, and the bases are made from thick oak veneer with a wire-brushed finish that highlights the grain’s natural movement. The Anthem suite also offers real brass hardware. Our bath mirrors and lighting fixtures have been elevated with damp-rated upgrades to withstand moisture while maintaining their original aesthetics.
How do you envision designers using this collection?
As restorative design evolves, we hope these pieces will make it easy for designers and homeowners to seamlessly blend styles from main rooms to bathrooms, creating a soothing ambiance throughout the home.
Can the collection be customized? What kinds of options are possible?
We know personalization is important to consumers, so we designed our bath vanities to fit standard 8-inch widespread faucets, enabling designers and homeowners to customize each vanity with their own faucets. They can also customize with their own hardware if they’d like. The vanities are available in two looks, two finishes and three sizes (single, single wide and double). Plus, consumers can choose from 20 different bath-safe mirrors and 10 lighting options that range from French industrial to Scandinavian-inspired. We wanted to make it easy for anyone to add sensorial elements like ambient lighting and visual interest with varying mirror shapes and sizes. It’s all about bringing a new level of personalization to the bathroom.
