How does this program enhance the design process for interior designers?
Our Create Your Own program gives designers complete control over color and size, ensuring they can create a rug that perfectly complements their vision. We developed an intuitive online tool that allows designers to choose from 200 in-stock colors and see how the palette comes together before making a final decision. This flexibility makes it easier for designers to curate spaces that are both personal and cohesive. The ability to customize the rugs also helps them solve specific design challenges by allowing them to order the perfect size and also harmonize with their color scheme.

How does the online tool work?
The online tool was designed to be user-friendly and visually intuitive. Designers can browse through our colors and see their palette choices applied to their selected patterns in real time. Once they’ve finalized their design, we will create a rendering shown in their specified size, and they can purchase directly from our trade website. This seamless process not only saves time but ensures that the designer is in full control of the creative outcome.

What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
The new patterns are inspired by a variety of sources, including midcentury modern design and patterns found in nature. We wanted to capture the timeless appeal and geometry of midcentury textiles and textures while bringing in the fluidity and natural beauty of organic shapes. Our intent was to offer a variety of pattern types that resonate with both contemporary and traditional spaces. We are currently working on additional patterns for the program and will continue to release new designs on an ongoing basis.

How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
This collection represents an evolution for our brand by marrying advanced customization with artistic design. It pushes us forward by allowing designers to personalize their rugs in ways that are both visually impactful and highly functional and efficient.

How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The collection builds on our previous offerings by expanding the ease of customization possibilities while maintaining the same level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that Scott Group Studio is known for. We’ve always focused on creating custom pieces that feel special and thoughtfully designed, and this collection adds another layer by allowing designers to play with color and texture online, then purchase directly from our website. It complements our existing products by offering even more flexibility for lead times and budgets, making it easier for designers to seamlessly integrate our rugs into their projects.

What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
What feels fresh is the way we’ve combined technology with artistry. The online customization tool lets designers visualize their choices in real time, giving them a tangible and quick preview of how their rug will look. It’s exciting to see how the patterns, colors and textures we’ve designed can be completely transformed by different palettes. This interactive approach feels very forward-thinking and empowering for the designer.

Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
We work exclusively with 100 percent New Zealand wool fibers, which offer both durability and a luxurious feel. Wool forms the foundation of these pieces due to its softness, resilience and performance. It’s easy to clean and maintain, and it’s made from natural fibers. Wool allows for depth and tactility, particularly in patterns that play with raised surfaces and a combination of textures.
