Renowned interior designer and photographer Alberto Pinto passed away late Sunday night.
Over the course of his 42-year design career, Pinto built a 60-person design firm based in Paris with grand-scale projects on all continents.
Born in 1945 in Casablanca to Argentine parents, he attended Ecole de Louvre in Paris, before moving to New York to open a photography agency specializing in decoration and interior design. It was during photo shoots in Mexico, England, Italy and India that he acquired his taste for design.
Pinto's offices were housed within a 5-floor private residence at Place des Victoires
His list of projects includes over a dozen private jets, half a dozen hotels, and countless apartments and corporate offices in exotic locales all over the world.

Pinto also had a home collection of furniture, tableware, table linen, and home accessories, and he collaborated with many home and tabletop manufacturers such as Raynaud, Pierre Frey, THG, Ecruis, and D. Porthault.
"We at Pierre Frey are very sad by the news of Alberto Pinto’s passing. My father Patrick Frey and Alberto have known each other for over 30 years," said said Mr. Pierre Frey. "He has been both a friend to the family as well as a design collaborator on some beautiful fabric collections with us. The design world has lost a truly great talent."
