The brainchild of Palm Springs-based interior designer Christopher Kennedy, the Modernism Week Show House will take place at the designer’s own Stan Sackley “compound” (built in 1971) during Modernism Week February 13-23.
Spearheading the project, Kennedy recruited project manager Vanessa Kogevinas as well as interior designers Celerie Kemble, Jiun Ho, Trina Turk, Lori Dennis, Patrick Dragonette, Sammy Castro, Ron Woodson and Jamie Rummerfield to help realize his vision of the California “jet set” and mid-century modern styles.
“My goal with the compound is to celebrate Palm Springs’ architecture in its heyday, while updating a swanky vintage house for the realities of modern living using the best of today's technology,” said Kennedy. “This is truly a home created for a Jetsetter—a world-traveler who comes to Palm Springs for privacy, rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation of the mind and body.”
First Atrium Construction, in partnership with Cosentino Silestone Quartz, Aran Cucine, Neo Metro Fixtures, Gessi Bath, La Cantina Doors, Crestron Home Automation, and more than three dozen local and national residential design resources like Pirch, Egg & Dart and Modern Home will work to bring the designers visions to life.
The show house is sponsored by LUXE Interiors + Design magazine and will be open to the public for 45-minute tours for $35. For a complete schedule of tour times and for information about other hosted events at the property, click here.
